ISLAMABAD: Accountability court on Monday will resume proceedings of Avenfield properties reference against Nawaz Sharif and family.
Judge Mohammad Bashir will be presiding the case.
Defense counsel Khawaja Haris will resume presenting final arguments in Avenfield case for the fifth consecutive day.
Nawaz along with his daughter have been exempted from court appearances owing to Kulsoom Nawaz’s unstable condition in London’s hospital.
Earlier on June 23, Haris had argued that Nawaz Sharif had not once claimed ownership of Avenfield properties nor was he listed as the beneficial owner.
On Wednesday, Haris while presenting the final arguments had said that in the supplementary reference the proof of burden was on defense rather than on the prosecution, when when Nawaz had not once claimed ownership of the Avenfield properties.
Khawaja Haris had earlier returned as Nawaz’s counsel on Tuesday after a short recusal owing to SC’s dictation to end the cases within a month.
Sharif family is charged for corruption, money laundering and tax evasion and is undergoing trial for National Accountability bureau’s (NAB) supplementary references filed in the wake of Panamagate verdict in 2017.
